Construction Cost Estimator/Purchaser

The Bannett Group is seeking a career-track building construction cost estimator with some experience. This position is not entry level and requires general contracting knowledge of all trades. An individual with several years of building construction cost estimating experience will enjoy a stable environment with a good salary, benefits and limited travel.

A degree or formal study in a construction, architectural or engineering curriculum is a requirement, along with employment references as an estimator. Success here will depend on a desire to complete and win, along with a collaborative, detail-oriented and highly organized working style. We are open to work with and to develop the right candidate to supplement some missing elements.

Position responsibilities & duties include:

  • Vendor notifications
  • Pre-bid meetings attendance
  • Quantity surveys
  • Bid preparation
  • Pricing negotiations with clients and vendors
  • Contract writing
  • Management of pre-construction and bid schedules
  • Management of project budgets
  • Purchasing management
  • Departmental organization and management


The successful candidate will possess some or all of the following elements:

  • Prior construction estimating experience
  • Technical degree in construction management, engineering or architecture
  • A passion for construction and the ability to think in terms of costs
  • Recommendation(s) to prove past client satisfaction
  • Pragmatic understanding of buildings and site work
  • Experience with Timberline and Excel, or similar software
  • Ability to demonstrate a highly collaborative, team-oriented approach to work
  • Understanding of both competitive bid and design-build project delivery systems

Assistant Construction Project Manager

Position responsibilities and duties include

  • Construction document management – ensure all subs and superintendents have the necessary documents on site
  • Submittal/shop drawing review
  • Assist project managers with purchasing
  • Write subcontracts and purchase orders
  • Generate/maintain project schedule with Project Manager and Superintendent input
  • Interact with Owners and Subcontractors as needed
  • Track material deliveries
  • Gather and assemble owner cost issues for unforeseen issues/changes
  • Write Owner and subcontractor change orders
  • Process RFI’s from superintendents and subcontractors

The successful candidate will possess some or all of the following elements:

  • Project management experience
  • Technical degree in construction management, engineering or architecture
  • Passion for construction and the ability to think in terms of project tasks
  • Recommendations to prove past client satisfaction
  • A pragmatic understanding of buildings and sitework
  • Experience with Timberline, Microsoft Project, and Excel, or similar software
